Cece and I went to the dollar store today to gather some supplies for make something Monday. Dollar Tree is the place I have the best luck. I didn't quite have a plan when I went in, but came out with some fun ideas...
Here's what we bought:
- Paint
- Kitchen brushes and sponges
- A noodle
- Plastic bin
- Popsicle sticks
- Ribbon
Project #1: Floating Drink Holder (for our hot tub)
Cost: $2
Supplies- plastic bin (with some sort of edge), pool noodle, sharp knife
This project took a total of 5 minutes, including the testing part... Cut the noodles to the sizes of the edge of the bin.

Next, cut slits down the length of the noodles and assemble onto the perimeter.
Ta Da!
And so far, it floats! I filled it with water for the test, but put whatever you want in it.
Project #2: 4th of July paintings with kitchen utensils
The Dollar Tree had some adorable scrubbers- piggies, ducks, and lady bugs! I also grabbed a spongy dish washing tool, and another pack of colored scrubbers. They also had paint as well.

This project is for my 2 year old. Use the different tools to create fireworks onto cardstock
Cece had a great time experimenting with the different utensils and paint colors. We have a frame in our house that we switch out the artwork, so we are excited to feature her 4th of July Art!
I didn't have time to make things with the rest of the items I bought, but I did want to make 4th of July Ribbon Wands out of the ribbon.
Have a great Monday!!!!
