I can't believe we are now within weeks of meeting our little man! This Florida heat is no joke, so we have been spending lots of time in the pool which has been lovely! It has also given me some time in the AC to get the nursery ready and pack our bags. I wanted to share what I packed in my hospital bags, and what my husband still needs to pack! Yikes! If you have any other ideas of what I should bring, please let me know :)
#1 on the list... SNACKS! I packed a soft cooler filled with snacks for both me and my husband. A friend of mine gave me a cooler full of snacks as a shower gift the first time around and I think I ate ALL of them during my 2 night stay at the hospital. You don't know what time the baby will be born, and if it's in the middle of the night, the cafeteria won't be open. For me, I was so hungry EVERY time I nursed so the snacks were irreplaceable. I don't know what I will be in the mood for so I packed a little bit of each. Some snacks packed include:
I organized most snacks in plastic baggies then put them in the cooler. |
Mama's Bag:
- A few nursing tank tops (I found some great ones at Walmart that are looser on the bottom and only $15! Cheap for nursing tops)
- PJ bottoms
- A wrap around sweatshirt/robe
- Yoga pants
- Non skid cozy socks
- Magazines
- Nursing bras
- Flip flops
- Going home outfit (Linen pants, and a black top or nursing tank)
- Phone charger
- Blanket
- Pillow (the hospital ones aren't super)
- Towel for the car (just in case)
- Nursing pads
- Shower items- razor, shampoo, soap, conditioner
- Hair brush and mousse (so I don't need to spend much time on it)
- Makeup
- Toothbrush/toothpaste
- Lip balm
- Ipad
- Thank you cards
- Gifts for nurses (future post)
For Hubby:
| For Big Sister: We have an overnight bag ready for her for when she stays with my parents that we can just grab for her.
We are also packing a little bag for when she comes to visit from her baby brother with:

Additionally we have the carseat base installed and will be bringing the carseat of course. If you think of anything we are missing that was helpful for you at the hospital, please let me know! We can't wait for the next few weeks to go by so we can meet our little guy!
Cheers!
